About Dr. Froth

Here is the UPDATED for 2012 Dr. Froth info page. HOORAY.

I was born in Las Cruces, NM and moved to the Texas Panhandle at age 13. I started playing bass guitar at age 9 and did my first recording session at age 12. That is almost 26 years of frothy, thumping goodness…WOW. I moved to Houston around seven years ago…and I love it here.

Currently I play in the band Six Minute Century signed to Nightmare Records. The band’s second album is in production at the time of this writing and should be out one of these days before my pubes turn gray and fall out.

I played two tracks on the Eumeria “Rebel Mind” album that released in early 2011. You can hear my bass lines on the tracks “Legion” and “The Key.” Also in 2011 I had the honor of filling in on bass for Helstar during a show in Corpus Christi, Tx.

Prior to SMC, I have played in many bands including the eighties rockers Axe who I played the 2008 Rocklahoma main stage with. In 1998 I was the bassist for that season of TEXAS: The Musical Drama in Palo Duro Canyon. I have done recording and live work with many bands including: Empire of the Mind, Mike Pritchard’s Blue Thunder and the Lightning Horns, Wolfeblitzer, Iron Mayhem, Strange Love, Abby Hutchison…etc, etc. Heck, I even played for the gospel group, The Imperials, during a three day performance of Handal’s Young Messiah….trippy.

I have shared the stage with such names as Fates Warning, Epica, Great White, Queensryche, Tesla, Zebra, Ace Frehley, Steelheart, Rick Emmet from Triumph, Accept, Leperous, Tracy Byrd, and a bunch of other folks..hahaha.

Early in 2010, I made a very important musical career change. I put down my bass guitar and picked up the NS/STICK which I feel will be the direction I take for the rest of my days. See the picture below if you do not know what this is.

After playing at Prog Power XI in 2010, Stick Enterprises, the maker of the Chapman Stick and the NS/STICK, added me to their player gallery on the stick.com website. I am now married to Lori Millsap and she kicks much ass. In fact, sometimes she kicks my ass. Other times, it is other asses. But mostly, she just kicks ass in general and I like her that way. You will too…or she will kick YOUR ass.
